Empty Bowls

Empty bowls Empty Bowls is a community project to raise money for local hunger prevention efforts.  For $10 you get to choose a bowl created by local potters, community members, and students.  These bowls are each unique and a great keepsake!  You then fill it with soup donated by local restaurants.  The meal includes bread, beverage, and desert. The event also features a raffle, local entertainment, clowns for the children, and a pottery demonstration by a local professional potter. Additionally the Annual Poverty Prevention Award is presented.

10th annual Empty Bowls event was a success with nearly 1000 attendees and 70
volunteers! Over $20,000 was raised for local hunger initiatives including the Giving Gardens, Mobile Pantry and grants to local hunger programs. Senator Lassa, State Rep Molepske, County Ex Dreier and Mayor Halverson joined the crowd to support Empty Bowls. 37 restaurants gave delicious soup and numerous churches donated 1000's of cookies. Great event once again and we are grateful to all those who
volunteered or attended!
